Coca Cola Ammonia Plant

Coca Cola Ammonia Plant

Project Summary

A complete de-commissioning and renovation of the ammonia/mechanical room including asbestos batement, mechanical upgrade, process conversion and automated controls upgrade. One of the most challenging components of this job was the removal of all the obsolete equipment from the facility. This process involved moving through some secured areas and a long distance to exiting the facility. SKYGRiD presented the idea of creating an opening in the outside wall to create a safe exit strategy for all equipment and abated materials. This completely eliminated the egress issue however it did pose a potential security challenge. We eliminated this concern by installing heavy gauge metal doors finished on the outside to look permanent and not draw any unwanted potential intrusion. The client liked the doors so a complete redesign of the initial scope of work. The redesign has been completed now by the architects and engineers and we are about to complete the structural portion of this work. The redesign has ultimately saved the client money and led to greater efficiencies.
